Hey everyone,

So here's a fun fact: I bought an Epic and an Ikon pass this year. Combined cost: roughly the price of a nice dinner for twelve. Number of times used before this weekend: zero. The move, the new job, apartment hunting — life had other plans. But I finally made it up to Mammoth, and I brought some friends who have questionable taste in outerwear.

재밌는 사실 하나: 올해 Epic 패스 그리고 Ikon 패스 둘 다 샀어. 합치면 12명 저녁값. 이번 주말 전까지 사용 횟수: 0회. 이사, 새 직장, 집 구하기 — 인생이 다른 계획이 있었음. 근데 드디어 매머드 갔다. 옷 센스가 의심되는 친구들이랑 같이.

On my last run, the snow had almost all melted away. Skiing down, I caught a warm breeze and the smell of bark and pine warming up — spring sneaking in through the back door. Not a bad way to close out the season.

마지막 런에서 눈이 거의 다 녹아 있었어. 내려오는데 따뜻한 바람이랑 나무껍질이 데워지는 냄새 — 봄이 뒷문으로 슬쩍 들어오는 중. 시즌 마무리로 나쁘지 않았어.

Meanwhile, at work — I started producing. First assignment: comparing nudity detection models across our pipeline. Yes, that is my actual job. Yes, I made interactive D3 charts about it. No, I will not be taking questions at this time.

한편 회사에서는 — 프로듀싱 시작했어. 첫 과제: 우리 파이프라인의 노출 감지 모델 비교. 맞아, 이게 진짜 내 일이야. 맞아, 인터랙티브 D3 차트까지 만들었어. 아니, 질문은 받지 않겠습니다.

Apartment update: remember how I was planning to live in Santa Monica? The owner decided to sell. Plot twist: he lives in London, didn't want to deal with shipping furniture across an ocean, and just... gave it all to me. Bed frame, desk, couch, reading chair. I furnished an entire apartment for the price of a moving truck rental. Capitalism occasionally works in your favor.

아파트 업데이트: 산타모니카에 살려고 했던 거 기억나? 집주인이 집을 팔기로 했어. 반전: 그 사람이 런던에 살아서 가구를 대양 건너 보내기 싫다고 그냥... 다 줌. 침대, 책상, 소파, 의자. 이사 트럭 비용만으로 아파트 전체를 꾸몄어. 가끔은 자본주의가 내 편이야.

First visitor alert: my friend Dylan flew down from SF. We went to UO together and he's now at Anthropic working on Claude Code — which, if you haven't been paying attention, is kind of a big deal right now. The man hadn't bought clothes in four years. I staged an intervention: Buck Mason, Todd Snyder, Deeptique, and the Grove. Followed by Korean BBQ, obviously.

첫 방문자 알림: 친구 Dylan이 SF에서 내려왔어. 오레곤대 같이 다녔는데 지금은 Anthropic에서 Claude Code 만들고 있어 — 요즘 핫한 거 알지. 이 사람이 4년 동안 옷을 안 샀대. 긴급 개입 들어감: Buck Mason, Todd Snyder, Deeptique, Grove. 한국 BBQ는 당연히 이어짐.

I've also been running recon for Justin and Alia — they're moving out here and I built some scripts to scrape apartment listings in Silverlake, Los Feliz, Echo Park, and Highland Park. 163 listings, 4 curated picks, one very official email. They're flying back from Korea on April 8th. Justin responded to my housing report by asking me for money. Using his full military signature block. Captain Justin J. Lee, 173rd Airborne, U.S. Army.

Cousin Eunice is visiting end of April too — she's in investment banking in NYC and then heading on a solo trip through Germany and Amsterdam after. I told her I'd live vicariously through her Instagram stories.

I've been meeting some great people out here too. Stanford grads in med school, an aerospace engineer, a five-star hotel sales rep. There's something about being around people who are all building something — it's contagious in the best way.

사촌 Eunice도 4월 말에 와 — 뉴욕에서 IB 하다가 독일이랑 암스테르담 혼자 여행 간대. 인스타 스토리로 대리만족 하겠다고 함.

여기서 좋은 사람들도 많이 만나고 있어. 스탠포드 출신 의대생, 항공우주 엔지니어, 5성급 호텔 세일즈. 다들 뭔가 만들고 있는 사람들 사이에 있으면 — 전염되는 느낌이야, 좋은 쪽으로.
